Summer Wine Pass

While you’re staying at Flying Flags, you’ll want to sample the wines of the Santa Ynez Valley. There’s no better way to do this than by purchasing a Summer Pass – one pass, one price 13 wineries!

For just $40, you’ll receive one wine tasting at each of the Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country Association tasting rooms ($130 value). You chose the dates you’d like to taste between May 1 and Aug. 31, there are no reservations required and no blackout dates.  Your pass will expire when you’ve tasted at all 13 wineries, or on Aug. 31 – whichever comes first.

Springtime at Flying Flags

The Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival April 19-22 at the Santa Ines Mission in the heart of Solvang, located just three miles from Flying Flags, is a prime example of reasons to visit here this spring.

The festival weekend attracts wine lovers from near and far for an opportunity to meet member vintners, taste their wines and enjoy great food and music over a long spring weekend.

The highlight of the weekend is the festival itself, where every one of 100+ member wineries gather to present their wines, often poured by the winemakers themselves. The festival also presents some of the best local food from restaurants, catering companies and gourmet food creators.

Festivals Near Flying Flags RV Resort

The annual Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival Weekend attracts wine lovers from near and far for an opportunity to meet member vintners, taste their wines and enjoy great food and music over a long spring weekend.

This event returns to the city of Solvang and the beautiful grounds of the mission April 19-22 in an annual rite of spring designed to heighten public awareness by showcasing the award winning wines, which are grown, produced and bottled locally.

And Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground is the ideal spot for visitors to stay while attending the festival.

Right around the corner is the arrival of the new luxury cottages and custom renovated Airstream travel trailers, which will be ready for rental by May 1 at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground.

Cottages are all loft units with wrap-around decks. They will be ready, complete with new decks furnishings, by the end of April. Everyone who is on the waiting list will be contacted next week to confirm those reservations.

The six Airstreams will be themed and will feature modern luxuries and vintage appeal. We have hired a design team to completely renovate the vintage 1960s Airstreams in custom styles and themes. The iconic Airstreams, nicknamed “the Silver Bullets,” are the most recognized RV on the road today. Once completed, these Airstreams will offer the most unique camping experience in the market. Availability is expected starting in May.

Meanwhile, pool and splash zones have reopened after getting beautiful new patios and sidewalks. More great things are coming to Flying Flags RV Resort.

If you enjoyed the Wine & Chili Festival on St. Patrick’s Day at Flying Flags, then you’ll like the 2nd Annual Buellton Brew Fest on May 11, which will feature craft beer from various brewers along with music, food and fun. This inaugural event takes place at the River View Park in Buellton from noon to 4 p.m. Look for more on that event in future blogs.

Vintner Festival April 19-22

“Wine Aficionados Alert – the Annual Santa Barbara County Vintner’s Festival is coming to Solvang April 10-22.  We are thrilled that the new venue is right in Solvang at the beautiful Santa Ines Mission.  The mission is just 3 miles away and right on the bus route from Flying Flags RV Resort.  That makes Flying Flags the best place to stay for this huge festival.

Concerts at Chumash

Some of the biggest and best musical performers will be coming to the Santa Ynez Valley for the Chumash Casino Concert Series going on through June. All of these artists will be nearby when you stay at a cottage or full hook-up RV site at Flying Flags RV Resort.

This month Johnny Lee will perform his hits from “Urban Cowboy” and beyond on January 31. For February and March, check out classic rock bands such as Styx, The Guess Who and pop groups Air Supply and Abba. Don’t miss a special Johnny Mathis concert on Valentine’s Day and many more great acts.

All concerts will be in the Samala Showroom at the casino, and tickets can be purchased on the Chumash website. There you can also find promotions, more events and information. The casino is only a 15 minute drive from our resort.
