Santa Ynez Valley Art Week

The first annual Santa Ynez Valley Art Week will start off a new tradition of  events showcasing local art and culture. The week goes from November 12-20 at different locations in the area.

Check out the Buellton Bazaar November 12 for a holiday art and craft fair. Local artists will have booths and admission is free. Or learn about the region’s history at the Vaquero sale and show. There will be a riding and roping demonstration, a raffle and BBQ lunch.

Later in the week, go on a wine walk in Solvang, where you’ll get tastings and discounts at 5 different wineries of your choice. There will also be an interesting demo on painting with wine.

The Wilding Art Museum will host a “follow the dots” tour through 29 local artists’ galleries to highlight their works, mainly inspired by landscapes and small towns in the area.

Take the scenic route

Buellton attracts plenty of wine enthusiasts to local wineries, tastings and events. But the area also draws many athletes because of the temperate climate and beautiful scenery.

Cyclists will gather for the 22nd annual Solvang Prelude Ride on November 5. This ride is a precursor to the Solvang Century ride next March and has 35, 50 and 63 mile courses through the scenic wine country, varying from relaxing rural routes to the challenging and hilly 63 miler.

Water, energy drinks and snacks will be provided by volunteers throughout each course and an outdoor festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with BBQ lunch provided from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for riders and their guests who pre-order tickets.

The start and finish lines are in Riverview park, just a few minutes from Flying Flags RV Resort. If you’re looking for some last minute lodging to participate or watch this race, make your reservation with us today!

Autumn on the trail

Autumn on the Trail is coming up in November, and this event combines many winery tours into one exciting day. Experience the beauty of nearby Santa Ynez valley wine country with wine tastings and appetizers at member wineries and a wine glass, included in your ticket.

Take your self guided tour of the participating wineries on Saturday November 5 from 11 am to 4 pm. And bring your event passport into any of the wineries on Sunday November 6 for more complimentary tastings.
