Taste of Solvang

Don’t miss the 20th Annual Taste of Solvang, coming up March 14-18. This event gives visitors a taste of local culture with food, wine and fun. Enjoy regional wines, food, desserts, live music and entertainment as well as cooking classes and demonstrations.

Cashuma Lake Cruises

Explore the beauty of the surrounding area with Cachuma nature cruises and adventures. The nearby Cachuma Lake Nature Center offers Eagle cruises through February and will start summer wildlife cruises in March.

The 2 hour cruise is for everyone ages 4 and up and is offered Friday-Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays starting at 2 p.m. See Bald Eagles, birds, other wildlife and nature of the area. Park admission is $10 per vehicle and cruises are $15 for adults, $7 for kids 4-12.

The Cachuma Nature Center is open from 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturdays and 10 am to 2 pm on Sundays. See exhibits, hands-on displays and visit the gift and book shop to learn about local wildlife, geology and history.

And take the free Cachuma Lake Nature Walk every Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. These docent led walks cover a 1/2 mile on the Oak Canyon Trail. Or explore the area on your own with hiking trails, fishing, canoeing and kayaking.

30th Annual Vintners’ Festival

The Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival will celebrate 30 years of fabulous wine, food and music this spring. Get your tickets early for the festival, which takes place April 20-23. Valley Wines and Valentines
