2nd Annual Brew Fest in Buellton

Many fine brewers have signed on with Flying Flags RV Resort as sponsors for the Second Annual Buellton Brew Fest coming up on Saturday, May 11, in River View Park in Buellton.

The participating breweries are Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., Sierra Nevada, Goose Island Beer Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co., Wandering Dog Wine Bar, Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, BIN, Trumer Pils, Stone Brewing Co., Karl Strauss Brewing Co., Farm to Bottle Almanac Beer Co., Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Mendocino Brewing Co., Ninkasi Brewing, Island Brewing Co., Tapit, Angry Orchard Hard Cider and New Belgium Brewing.

Sunday is Mother’s Day. What better way to follow up Brew Fest than with a poolside Mother’s Day breakfast at Flying Flags?

Festivals Near Flying Flags RV Resort

The annual Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Festival Weekend attracts wine lovers from near and far for an opportunity to meet member vintners, taste their wines and enjoy great food and music over a long spring weekend.

This event returns to the city of Solvang and the beautiful grounds of the mission April 19-22 in an annual rite of spring designed to heighten public awareness by showcasing the award winning wines, which are grown, produced and bottled locally.

And Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground is the ideal spot for visitors to stay while attending the festival.

Right around the corner is the arrival of the new luxury cottages and custom renovated Airstream travel trailers, which will be ready for rental by May 1 at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground.

Cottages are all loft units with wrap-around decks. They will be ready, complete with new decks furnishings, by the end of April. Everyone who is on the waiting list will be contacted next week to confirm those reservations.

The six Airstreams will be themed and will feature modern luxuries and vintage appeal. We have hired a design team to completely renovate the vintage 1960s Airstreams in custom styles and themes. The iconic Airstreams, nicknamed “the Silver Bullets,” are the most recognized RV on the road today. Once completed, these Airstreams will offer the most unique camping experience in the market. Availability is expected starting in May.

Meanwhile, pool and splash zones have reopened after getting beautiful new patios and sidewalks. More great things are coming to Flying Flags RV Resort.

If you enjoyed the Wine & Chili Festival on St. Patrick’s Day at Flying Flags, then you’ll like the 2nd Annual Buellton Brew Fest on May 11, which will feature craft beer from various brewers along with music, food and fun. This inaugural event takes place at the River View Park in Buellton from noon to 4 p.m. Look for more on that event in future blogs.

Upcoming Festivals

The 2012 Vintner’s Festival brought many visitors to the area for beautiful weather, entertainment and delicious food and wine samples. The Santa Ynez Valley News put up a slideshow for the festival. If you didn’t get a chance to go to the festival, check out the photos to see what you missed!

Though Santa Barbara county is known for wine, the region does cater to many different tastes. Santa Maria Fairpark will host the 25th Annual Strawberry Festival April 27-29 with carnival rides, go kart racing, live entertainment and a lot of strawberry tastings and cooking demos. Buy tickets and get more information on the festival website.

And the Buellton Brew Fest is coming up May 12 at nearby River View Park. Make a short trip to the scenic park from noon to 4 p.m. for local beer tastings, demos and beers to purchase. Enjoy live music, food and wine — which you’ll find at most local festivals.
